Beatriz Garmendia-Doval, Software Engineer at MASA Group will be presenting « Smart Simulation for decision support at headquarters » during the NATO conference on Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Military DecisionMaking held in Bordeaux from May 30th to June 1st 2018.
While serious games are being widely adopted by NATO and partner nations, their use is currently limited to training and operations planning. During this conference, we explore new methods that use simulations for decision support during the execution of military operations.
Nexter will showcase its Digital Sand Box allowing collaborative work to ease the tactical decision making process for training, mission preparation and conduct of operation. This Nexter Digital Sand Box integrates the MASA SWORD software for training purposes. The MASA SWORD software simulates the friend and enemy maneuvers in order to train the Commander to his tactical decision making process.
Please visit Nexter at booth #2401 and Masa at booth #2227.
The CAX Forum is taking place in Firenze from September 26th to September 29th.
Today, a video was shown demonstrating the NATO megacity model interacting with MASA SWORD. In SWORD, four types of disasters and their propagation were simulated in conjunction with the required military intervention.
The results of the MASA SWORD simulation are in real-time represented in the NATO megacity model, which basically is a 2D and 3D model representing a 6 millions inhabitants city.
Megacities are important for NATO as more than 50% of the world’s population is now living in urban areas. The megacity is expected to be the future battlefield.
