The NATO Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) organized its third annual Interagency Interaction Seminar in Sofia (Bulgaria) on June 8th-9th, 2015. The CMDR Interagency Interaction Seminar is an annual event which gathers subject matter experts, researchers and educators, planners and developers, consultants and various actors working in the crisis management and disaster response domain in order to promote a lively debate on these issues. This year, more than 90 representatives of a total of 19 NATO and PfP nations took part in the annual seminar.
There, MASA held a conference on the following subject: « How can Artificial Intelligence help to reduce the impact of disasters? ». Both the propagation of the disaster, the impact that it has on people and infrastructure AND the execution of high level orders by the subordinate levels are replaced by Artificial Intelligence.
This represents not only a tremendous cost saving, but will above all allow senior crisis management members to prepare for a crisis situation in a situation that is accurately mirroring the real crisis situation.
