The CAX Forum is taking place in Firenze from September 26th to September 29th.
Today, a video was shown demonstrating the NATO megacity model interacting with MASA SWORD. In SWORD, four types of disasters and their propagation were simulated in conjunction with the required military intervention.
The results of the MASA SWORD simulation are in real-time represented in the NATO megacity model, which basically is a 2D and 3D model representing a 6 millions inhabitants city.
Megacities are important for NATO as more than 50% of the world’s population is now living in urban areas. The megacity is expected to be the future battlefield.
