During ITEC, on Wednesday, May 17th, Newfel Messouci (Software Engineer at MASA Group) will be presenting a 30min conference :
Designing Realistic Behaviours for a Military Training Simulation
Simulation is a one of the main tools for armies’ training; it is used to confront trainees to complex situations that would be expensive and potentially dangerous to do in the real world. In this context the modeling of realistic automated forces becomes essential. This talk will focus on the behavior modeling process, from the analysis of the operational requirements and the military doctrine to the actual implementation and finally the test and validation process. Attendees will learn what are the main guidelines to build a maintainable library of behaviors that are both perceived and measured as realistic. MASA SWORD, a simulation for command post training used by many armies throughout the world will serve as an illustration for this presentation.
French-based artificial intelligence-based, modelling and simulation provider, MASA Group has delivered a completely customised version of its wargame with automated forces, SWORD, to the Bangladesh Army Training and Doctrine Command (ARTDOC), in order to equip its Computerised War-Game Centre (CWGC). The simulation has been adapted to reflect specific requirements including the Army’s doctrine, equipment and supplies as well as its ooperational terrain.
The ARTDOC has chosen to employ SWORD for command post training from the battalion to the division level. The software enables the Army to immerse its training audience in different types of military and civil emergency scenarios. SWORD can simulate and control tens of thousands of soldiers and units.
The Australian Government’s Defence Science and Technology Group (DST) has brought two MASA SWORD licences for use within its Land Capability Branch of the Joint Operations and Analysis Division.
The division develops ‘computational tools and techniques for use by multidisciplinary teams involved in land force analysis’.
‘We draw on strong collaboration with our clients, industry, academia and international d.efence partners to maintain a world-class military experimentation capability. Australia’s DST Group [has invested] in MASA SWORD to simulate complex operational research scenarios,’ the division said on its website.
Each year, Military Training International reviews the global simulation and training community, assesses their contributions and promotes companies that allow better individual and group training, lower direct and indirect costs, and the ability to bring joint and international partners together.
MASA Group is very proud to have been recognized as one of the Top Simulation & Training Companies from 2016!
Held in Melbourne from September 26th-29th, the SimTecT 2016 is Asia Pacific’s premier simulation conference for industry, government and academia.
In addition to MASA SWORD being showcased at the exhibition on YTEK’s booth, SWORD capacities will also be highlighted in one of the conferences.
Lieutenant-Colonel Martinez, Director at the JANUS Simulation Center (France Army Tactical Training Centre, which has been using SWORD for years) will deliver a speach on Preparing tomorrow’s Army leaders for demanding operational situations, and the role played by advanced automated simulation in their training: « Preparing tomorrow’s Army Leaders for demanding and wide ranging operational situations within dynamic and streamlined training environments is made possible by a transformative enterprise wide solution application approach and a new breed of fit-for-purpose, cost efficient and interoperable COTS solutions underpinned by advanced Artificial Intelligence based simulation technology« .
On September 20th-23rd, the NATO Modelling & Simulation COE will organize the CAX Forum 2016 in Germany.
Dedicated to the promotion of Modelling & Simulation in support of operational requirements, training and interoperability, this year CAX Forum will focus on technical items and operating procedures related to simulation – based exercises and training support, in order to promote the exchange of information and best practices among the Staffs of NATO and National Simulation/Training Centres.
On Wednesday, Septembre 21stat 11 AM, Hans Ten Bergen, Key Account Manager at MASA Group, will deliver a presentation on Logistic Command Post Training.
